About the event
Calling all authors! Isn’t it about time to brush off that old manuscript and get it published? Or maybe you’re still writing it and hoping to publish in the near future. Regardless of where you are in the process, the publishing industry can be confusing. Where do you begin? How do you research and find the perfect publisher for your book? Which publishing model should you choose, and what is a publishing model anyway? How do you work with an editor, and how in the world do you market your book baby? For aspiring authors seeking tips and tricks of the trade, Warren Publishing is hosting “I Want to Publish a Book ... Now What?” a series of workshops from April through June that covers these topics and more.
“Publishing a book can feel overwhelming for new authors or even for experienced authors who are trying something new. A lot of folks don’t know where to start and aren’t sure how to submit their books or who to turn to with questions. And once they’ve found a publisher, there’s the entire publishing process ... it’s easy to get lost,” says Mindy Kuhn, owner and president of Warren Publishing. “We’ve planned these workshops to help ease some of those publishing butterflies and steer authors who are ready to get their books out there.”
“I Want to Publish a Book ... Now What” is a three-part workshop series, and interested authors can participate in any section or all three should they choose to do so. Led by Warren’s president and vice president, with a combined forty years’ experience in the publishing industry, this presentation will discuss the basics of book publishing: the three models of publishing, how to select the perfect publisher for your book, how to submit your book to a publisher, and more.
